‘SLIM’ STEVE CHOWN
SLIM STEVE’S BLUESLINE
MONDAY 8PM – 10PM
Despite remembering being alarmed by the beginning of Dark Side of the Moon at the age of 10, Steve survived growing up in the prog-rock era and completed his education with nothing but a massive record collection and the three chords necessary for playing blues guitar.
Many years, many albums, many gigs and several guitars later Steve (now Slim Steve) is still seeking enlightenment and survives only on the music he plays.
With an in-depth knowledge of rock, roots, Americana and Blues if you need a tune, and you can find him, his mission is to share the love that this music brings.

THE WEEKEND WARM-UP
FRIDAYS 8PM – 10PM
I play music sent by local singers and bands. I’ve a varied selection of local music to play each week, hopefully appealing to a range of listeners, who then go along to support live performances.
I have local singers or bands in the studio with me who chat about their music, play acoustic songs live and choose tracks that are special to them. It’s interesting to hear how people became involved in making music, a great opportunity to really get to know them and their music, and a chance for the singers to really promote themselves.
I give information about local music events coming up and list a range of genre, venues and prices so there should be ‘something for everyone’.
If you would like to have your music played on the show, be a guest or have a shout-out for your music event then please do get in touch.

THURSDAY NIGHT MADNESS
THURSDAYS 8PM – 10PM
Thursday Night Madness is mad and on a Thursday night, so we thought the name was apt! (You wouldn’t believe how much work went in to that!)
Every track played is a listener request, the only rules are the track has to begin with a selected letter and or the band or artists names must begin with that letter.
Tune in for the ‘Letter of the week’ and join in, the choices are eclectic to say the least!

VINYL ROCK RENAISSANCE
THURSDAY 10PM – MIDNIGHT
Growing up in Barnstaple, Myles bought his first album, Led Zeppelin 2, in 1972 at the tender age of 8. Sadly his school mates were into the Bay City Rollers and didn’t understand his love of rock however loudly he played it to them. So Myles is delighted to have a forum to share his passion for rock classics with the good listeners of Beat Route Radio on his Thursday night show, the Vinyl Rock Renaissance. Night owls should join him from 10 till midnight to hear everything from America to Supertramp through to Youngbloods. Myles can also be found from 2-4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays where he aims to enhance his musical education – and yours – by playing songs from the 50’s through to today.

THE BIG SATURDAY NIGHT IN
SATURDAY 6PM – 9PM
Hi I’m Nigel Green I was born in Wellingborough many years ago but have spent most of my life living all over the place, including abroad in Mallorca for 4 and a half years.
I have been in and out of Radio for over 30 years now and I’m still learning. I have presented shows on various Hospital Radio Stations as well as Community and Local Radio. I have been a Sports and Football Reporter and Commentator over the years, covering games at both Kettering Town and Rushden & Diamonds for many years where I was once part of the Radio Diamonds Matchday Presenters, after the club sadly folded I was asked to stay on at Nene Park and help launch and be the first voice heard on Poppies Radio (Kettering Town FC) which has since become Poppies TV, who along with my good friend Paul Cooke, we were the first faces seen on the station. I have presented shows at Hospital Radio Kettering, Hilltop Hospital Radio in Erdington, Birmingham & Radio Danum Hospital Radio in Doncaster where I broadcast to my biggest audience during a live broadcast from Doncaster Race Course in 1992 for the Doncaster Show where we had a reported 255,000 listeners. This is my second stint at BRR having had to step aside because of work commitments a few months after the station originally launched. I also had a stint on Saturday Nights at the now de-funked Connect FM with whom I did most of my Football match reporting for as well as over the years Sky Sports, Talk Sport and 5LIve.Please do join me on Saturday Nights from 6pm on your NO1 Station in Northamptonshire, Beat Route Radio
SUNDAY BREAKFAST SHOW
SUNDAY 7AM – 9AM
From buying my first record (20th Century Boy – T-Rex) at my local sweet shop in Leeds music has been a passion. That passion is only surpassed by my love of radio.
My first radio shows were on the London pirate stations of the late 1970’s and I went on to run my own slightly illegal station for four years from 1980 to 84 (Radio Comsat). I also spent many years in the music business helping me to build a decent record collection and then through a route that included two university degrees and the last 12 years as a London black cab driver I ended up in lovely Northamptonshire.
I started on the Sunday morning breakfast show in January and am loving being back on the air. The music I play is anything from the last 60 years and covers rock, pop, soul, disco, country, punk, and plenty of Beatles. As my wife will tell you I never seem to run out of words so expect plenty of chat as well.
JUKE BOX 30

If it’s Tuesday and it’s 10pm it’s time for Jukebox 30!
Featuring the very best in music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s mixed with interesting facts about the artists and music. Oh not to mention the bad dad jokes and singing! (I did say not to mention!)
In 1977 I picked up a microphone for the very first time and DJ’d! I was fortunate enough to own a mobile disco and learnt my trade finally throwing in the towel in around 1998. Skip forward 21 years I then found Beat Route Radio – hallelujah
